David O'Reilly: Wunderkind & Animations-Genie der Fragmente

Oh YEAH! This guy must be what you´d call a genius. The Irish Berlin-based artist, born in 1985 Kilkenny/Ireland, has worked for 7 years in the animation world but it´s only for two years that he calls himself a filmmaker. It all started in a rather classical way: he went to school to learn about animation and drawing. He was actually more interested in drawing but realized quite quickly that not many people give a damn about drawing so he had to turn to Plan B: animation. He is known for creating innovative animated short films and using a raw, stripped down aesthetic. His style has been described by Xeni Jardin as somewhere between Kubrick, Kaufman and Ketamine. davidoreilly.com/

PLEASE SAY SOMETHING: A troubled relationship between a Cat and Mouse set in the distant Future. Winner of the Golden Bear for best short film at the 2009 Berlinale.
